Fort Ebey State Park is a 645-acre (261 ha) Washington state park located 5 miles (8.0 km) west of Coupeville in Island County on Whidbey Island. Fort Ebey was built during World War II as a coastal defense near the mouth of Puget Sound. The park has 3 miles (4.8 km) of shoreline on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, a freshwater lake, and over two dozen miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. Other park activities include picnicking, camping, fishing, beachcombing, birdwatching, interpretive activities, and paragliding. Approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) of the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail go through the park.
