Attractions in Kainuu

Paljakka Strict Nature Reserve (Paljakan luonnonpuisto) is a strict nature reserve located in the Kainuu region of Finland. It consists of old, high spruce forest, where the highest trees can reach 40 metres (130 ft). Finland’s only orchid species, Cypripedium calceolus, grows in the Paljakka reserve.

Rokua National Park (Rokuan kansallispuisto) is a national park in the Northern Ostrobothnia and Kainuu regions of Finland. The national park is located on the southern side of the Rokuanvaara Hill, where old pine forests grow in their natural state.
