The Brazen Serpent is a fresco (585A-985 cm) by Michelangelo Buonarroti, dating from about 1511 to 1512 and part of the decoration of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican Museums in Rome, commissioned by Pope Julius II.
