The Elgin Marbles, also known as the Elgin Marbles, are a collection of Greek sculptures of the classical age marble (mostly the work of Phidias and his assistants), inscriptions and architectural elements that were originally part of the Parthenon and other buildings placed on the Acropolis of Athens.
