The Bargello National Museum is the most important museum of Italian sculpture, and most important in the world for the Renaissance sculpture. In Via del Proconsolo 4 in Florence, houses masterpieces by Michelangelo, Donatello, Ghiberti, Cellini, Giambologna, Ammannati and other important sculptors. It also preserves a large collection of applied arts, the latter mainly divided by type. The name comes from the palace of the Bargello, also known as Palazzo del Popolo.
