Located on the island of Sainte-Marguerite, the Maritime Museum housed in a fortress, is the highest point of the archipelago Lerins, on a hill emerging from the water, facing the Bay of Cannes. The island Sainte-Marguerite, with its sheltered cove, since ancient times was a stop for merchant ships. The island of Saint-Honorat was the first site of Gaul to establish a monastic community and build a Christian monastery on the ruins of the ancient cult of Lero and Lerin, and from the fifth century.
